Bachelor’s programme application deadlines

Bachelor’s application deadlines are very strict, and some of the most desirable courses fill up early. Generally speaking, the more popular the programme is, the earlier you need to apply. This means, the later you leave it, the smaller will be your chances of getting onto a prestigious course.

UK universities accept applications for bachelor’s programmes via a centralised system called UCAS. Here are the main UCAS deadlines:

1 year before the course start date

Universities start accepting applications

15 October

Deadline for submitting applications for Oxford and Cambridge universities as well as medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine programmes

15 January

Deadline for UCAS applications. Only if you submit the application before this date, you are guaranteed that universities will assess it. Those applying to Top universities should apply before this date

February – June

Universities continue to accept applications but some popular programmes may fill up before your application will be processed
